Dr. Maurice L. Gross, MD Memorial Scholarship

The Maurice L. Gross, M. D.,’87 Memorial Scholarship is established by his Friends and Fraternity Brothers of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Rho Iota Iota Chapter of Long Beach, CA through the Meharry National Alumni Association.

The Scholarship is open to any student in good standing in the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, or School of Graduate Studies & Research, preference given in that order.  The recipient may be male or female. Preference is being given to a student from the state of MICHIGAN or CALIFORNIA.

• The students will be presented with a BIO of Dr. Gross and be required to write a short essay on why they feel they should be awarded the scholarship.
• The recipient should participate in a Social Action project sponsored by Meharry’s Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
• The recipient must be in good academic standing.
• The recipient must be of high integrity.
• The recipient will receive the earnings from the principle of the Maurice L. Gross, M. D.,’87 Memorial Scholarship.

The recipient will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Meharry National Alumni Association, Inc., with input from the Rho Iota Iota Chapter mentioned above. The Maurice L. Gross, M. D.,’87 Memorial Scholarship is to be awarded at the Annual Fall Convocation of Meharry Medical College.
